Adult Christian Formation -- 9:15 -10:15 -- Sunday Mornings
Journeying the Way of Love: Adult Advent Study
Advent December 1, 8, 15, 29
Beginning Sunday, December 1st, an additional adult Sunday
morning class will meet in Dimmick Hall from 9:15am-10:15 am. The Way of Love is more than a program or curriculum; it is an intentional commitment to a set of practices and a commitment to follow Jesus: To Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, Rest. During the season of Advent, Journeying the Way of Love offers four sessions to be explored as we await the coming of Christ as seen in the first two chapters of the Gospel of Luke. Luke’s gospel provides a pattern for understanding how we can live the Way of Love as individuals, as families and friends, as a community and in the world.
Advent I (Dec 1): The Annunciation: Saying “Yes” to the Journey
Advent II (Dec 8): Mary and Elizabeth: Journeying with Family and Friends
Advent III (Dec 15) The Birth of John the Baptist: Journeying with Community
December 29: The Birth of Jesus: Journeying with the World

Adult Bible Study
You are invited to meet with us in the library every Sunday from 9:15 am to 10:15 am to delve into little known details of the lectionary readings every Sunday. We are using Isaac Asimov’s (yes, the famous science fiction author) Guide to the Bible as one of our sources, as well as Bible Commentaries in our library. The class is led (variously) by George Kurz, Katie Rea, and Kasie Hardy, but our group discussion is what makes this fun. So, please grab a donut and bring your coffee and join us this Sunday!
