I have failed, quite miserably, to write you all something for the last couple of months.  This month is no exception.  However, I fee that the very, very least I can do is provide you with a sample of the assorted masterpieces I've spent the opening months of 2008 crafting.  Here, without further ado, is a representative tidbit:

Dear [Name of College and/or University] Admissions Office,

I was first attracted to your wonderful institution by its remarkable prestige in the fields of [Most Popular Major] and [Second Most Popular Major], as well as its beautiful campus.  I've always pictured myself relishing the [majestic solitude of a rural environment / exhilarating bustle of an urban environment / reassuring safety of a suburban environment], and your school is exactly what I've been dreaming of.  But there's more to my interest than that.  I've searched high and low for an excellent college with a [large and diverse population through which I can expand my social horizons / small, intimate population through which I can make lasting friendships and cultivate a sense of community / medium sized, balanced population], and [affectionate school name acronym that makes me sound confident and chummy, such as "The U of X"] meets my desires with almost eerie precision.  It must be [Religious School: "God's Will" / Secular Liberal Artsy School: "Fate" / Extremely Secular Sciency School: "An Incredibly Fortunate Outcome of Chaos Theory"] that I've found you.

I look forward to your decision, and I thank you for your consideration.

[Casual School:            Stuffy School:               Absurdly Pretentious School:]
        "Thanks,                       "Sincerely,                      "Regards,
Sam Fox"                    Samuel Fox"                    Samuel T. Fox, Esq."
