A Note From Rev. Vicki
Parker Palmer's book sheds light on the deep spiritual aspect to being a citizen for many of us people of faith. How do we keep our faith lives consonant through all parts of this life - our relationships and our responsibilities as citizens of a democracy? Palmer, a Quaker, wrote this as a result of his deep wrestling with the divisions he observed growing in our society following 9-11, and increasing through the economic recession of the later years of the first decade of the 2000s. Palmer wrote Healing the Heart of Democracy in 2011, and his work resonates right now and can bring us insight into how we all move forward creatively together. Watch for this book discussion as an Adult Christian Ed offering in the late Spring.
